‘We messed up!’- An Apex Legends update broke the game and cost players hundreds of account levels and battle pass progression, but a fix is out-

Apex Legends is going through a bit of a rough patch right now, as players have reported account resets after the latest update. While the issue has now been fixed, there are still a couple of problems hanging around. Respawn has just told people to “hang tight” and wait for more information.

It all started earlier today when Respawn made note of all the reports: “We’ve rolled out an update to address this issue. Any account logging in now will not experience any lost progress or content,” says the Respawn Twitter account. “For players who are missing progress or content after our update this morning—please hang tight for now. We’re working on an additional fix to restore your accounts to their state before our update, and we’ll let you know as soon as it’s ready.”

Starfield lead quest designer leaves Bethesda to work on the open-world RPG Wyrdsong-

After a long career at Bethesda, Starfield lead quest designer Will Shen has left the studio and joined Something Wicked Games, where he’ll serve as lead content designer on its first game, the open-world RPG Wyrdsong.

Shen spent nearly 15 years at Bethesda, during which time he earned writing and design credits on Skyrim, Fallout 4, and Fallout 76. He was the lead designer on the Fallout 4 DLC Far Harbor, which we said had “a great setting, a good story, and more dialogue-based solutions than the base game provides,” and moved up to lead quest designer on the sci-fi RPG epic Starfield.

After a long tenure at Bethesda, the move to Something Wicked seems like a natural fit: The studio was co-founded in 2022 by Jeff Gardiner, a producer on Bethesda games including Skyrim, Fall…

Lethal Company’s ‘v50’ update makes running uphill scarier than its new evil butlers and crying mechs-

Lethal Company’s first major update, version 50, is playable in beta form and players are discovering how much worse space treasure hunting could be with deadly new monsters and a major nerf to a popular movement mechanic.

Solo developer Zeekerss hasn’t released official patch notes, but said the update isn’t fully finished. They also say that the redesigned movement speed up and down slopes—a change that is driving some players mad—will be less severe in the next iteration. The evil butler and missile-launching mechs, however, seem to be working mostly as intended.

Version 50 brings three new moons: Adamance, Artifice, and Embrion. Adamance’s mountainous landscape and brutal monsters don’t mix well with the greatly reduced running speed up slopes, according to s…

That’s all folks! MultiVersus is officially dead but promises a 2024 comeback-

Smashlike platform fighter MultiVersus is officially offline after 11 months in open beta, with a full release anticipated sometime in 2024. Developer Player First Games announced the shutdown back in March, before pulling the game from Steam’s store in April and gradually winding down its content until its closure on June 25.

Players who own the game and downloaded it before April 4 will still be able to play its training and local multiplayer modes, with all characters and cosmetic items from the battle pass and store fully unlocked during the game’s hiatus. However, once the game is online again it’ll revert back to whichever characters and cosmetics you had unlocked prior to its hibernation. In a MultiVersus FAQ, Player First says it intends to return with a full launch in ear…

Thanks to Tarsier Studios’ new horror game Reanimal, I’ll never look at a sheep in the same way again-

Tarsier Studios has announced Reanimal, a co-op adventure horror game that may instill fear in even the biggest of animal lovers—but I might just be projecting. With a spooky trailer shown off at Gamescom Opening Night Live, I guarantee anyone who loved Little Nightmares & Little Nightmares 2 will be excited for what the game has to offer.

Reanimal Seems to present a visually dark world inhabited by enemies I’m already struggling to describe. In the background of one scene, a long-limbed man with a twisted face (and an iconic big hat we’ve seen in both Little Nightmares games) is dragging something into the cinema. In another scene, the protagonists are being chased down by a sheep. Except it’s not a sheep, because its body seems to extend and it has far more legs …

TF2 is getting an ‘update-sized update’ this summer, but the community has to make it themselves-

Valve has put out a blog post revealing that Team Fortress 2 will be getting a “major update” this summer, which is to say that it won’t just be getting the usual injection of new cosmetic items, but a whole smorgasbord of “items, maps, taunts, unusual effects, war paints and who knows what else?”

The only catch is that it will all have to be provided by the community: Valve has put out a call for Steam Workshop submissions to be made by May 1 for this “as-yet unnamed, un-themed, but still very exciting summer-situated (but not summer-themed) (unless you want to develop summer-themed stuff) update.”

To put things in perspective, Team Fortress 2’s last major update came just last October with “Scream Fortress 14.” If that doesn’t sound too bad, I would like to note tha…
